Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil University, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, was established in 2026 under the Maharashtra State Private University Act, 2026. The university is committed to providing systematic and quality education, training, research and innovation in Modern Medicine and Indian Systems of Medicine.

The university currently offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Ph.D. and Fellowship programmes and aims to develop a strong academic and professional environment in healthcare education, research and innovation.

A Search Committee constituted by the Chancellor (President) of Dr. Balasaheb Vikhe Patil University has invited applications and nominations from eminent academicians for appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor.

Vice-Chancellor Recruitment 2026

The Search Committee is looking for a distinguished academician with strong academic credentials, leadership ability and administrative experience who can guide the university towards becoming a centre of academic and professional excellence.

The selection process is being conducted in accordance with the applicable provisions of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Medical Commission (NMC), New Delhi, along with the relevant provisions of the Maharashtra State Private University Act, 2026.

The Search Committee is expected to recommend a panel of not less than five eligible candidates to the Hon’ble Chancellor (President) for consideration and appointment as Vice-Chancellor.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

The recruitment notice states that the detailed eligibility requirements include:

  • Essential qualifications and experience
  • Desirable qualifications, experience and competencies
  • Leadership and administrative skills
  • Other applicable eligibility requirements

Tenure

The tenure of the Vice-Chancellor will be:

  3. A statement highlighting the candidate’s competencies, leadership experience and suitability for the Vice-Chancellor position.
  4. Authenticated copies of qualifications, experience, publications and research papers.
  5. Names and contact details of three distinguished persons who are well acquainted with the candidate’s academic and professional work.

Institutions may also nominate suitable candidates for consideration.

  • Hard copy – three copies
  • Soft copy

Applications or nominations received after the prescribed deadline will not be entertained.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a personal interaction with the Search Committee, if considered necessary.
