Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering & Technology (GKCIET), Malda, West Bengal, was established in 2010 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the mentorship of the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur. The institute was established in memory of Sri A.B.A. Ghani Khan Choudhury, who contributed significantly to the development of the region.

GKCIET is located in Malda, West Bengal, a region bordering Bihar, Jharkhand, and the North Eastern states. The institute was established with the objective of developing efficient and professionally competent technical manpower through a multidisciplinary and inter-sectoral approach.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility

1. Professor

Candidates applying for the position of Professor should satisfy the following requirements:

Educational Qualification:

  • Ph.D. degree in the relevant field.
  • First Class or equivalent at either Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in teaching/research/industry.
  • Out of the required experience, at least 3 years should be at a post equivalent to Associate Professor.

Research Requirements:

Candidates should satisfy either of the following research criteria:

Route 1:

  • At least 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE-approved list of journals.
  • At least 2 successful Ph.D. candidates guided as Supervisor/Co-Supervisor.

OR

Route 2:

  • At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE-approved list of journals.

2. Associate Professor

Candidates applying for Associate Professor should possess:

Educational Qualification:

  • Ph.D. degree in the relevant field.
  • First Class or equivalent at Bachelor’s or Master’s level in the relevant branch.

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in teaching/research/industry at a level equivalent to Assistant Professor.
  • At least 2 years of the experience should be post-Ph.D.

Research Publications:

  • At least 6 total research publications in SCI journals / UGC / AICTE-approved list of journals.

3. Assistant Professor

Candidates applying for Assistant Professor should possess:

  • B.E./B.Tech. and M.E./M.Tech. in the relevant branch, or
  • Integrated M.Tech. in the relevant branch.
  • First Class or equivalent in any one of the required degrees.

Candidates should ensure that their qualifications are relevant to the department/discipline for which they are applying.

4. Trainer

Candidates applying for Trainer should possess either:

  • B.E./B.Tech. with First Class in Computer Science and Engineering, or
  • Diploma with First Class or equivalent in the relevant branch.

Experience Requirement:

  • At least 3 years of experience in vocational education and training and/or industry/reputed organization.
  • Experience should be at the level of Senior Technician or equivalent.
