Organization Profile: Government of Puducherry The Directorate of School Education, Puducherry is serving to the citizens of the Union Territory of Pondicherry located in the four landscapes of the three neighbouring states of Tamilnadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. The Directorate is responsible for providing literacy and education to the people of this Union Territory at Pre-Primary, Primary, Middle, Secondary and Higher Secondary Levels of schooling.

Apart from these government run educational institutions, this Directorate is financially supporting various private educational institutions through Grant-in-aid for providing education to all the children of this Union Territory, who are in the age group of 3 – 17 years. The financial outlay on the Grant-in-aid provided to a total number of 36 educational Institutions in the current financial year is Rs.10.27 Crores. Besides, providing regular and formal education to the younger citizens of this Union Territory, the following services are rendered to develop the socio-economic status of the students in the age group of 3 – 17 and the teachers, by implementing various welfare schemes.

Note:

1. The requirement notified is subject to change as they depend upon the Government reserves the right either to enhance or to reduce the number of requirements notified depending upon the necessity at the time of selection and also to cancel the recruitment process. 2. Reservation and its inter-se exchange for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) would be made as per para 8.1 to 8.3 of the 0.M.No.36035/02/ 2017-Estt(Res), dated.15.01.2018 of the DOPT, New Delhi.

Eligibility Condition:

• Bachelor’s Degree in the respective subject/language from any recognized University.
• B.Ed or B.T of any recognized university
• Should have studied the particular regional language (Tamil/ Telugu/ Malayalam) as one of the subjects in the Secondary In respect of schools with the medium of Instruction in French, should have studied Brevet Elementaire de Francais. However, this qualification is not required for the Trained Graduate Teacher in the discipline of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and French as these languages are the regional languages of the Union Territory of Puducherry.
• Should have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in Paper-II of TNTET/KTET/APTET/CTET as prescribed below
  • General Category/EWS- 60% (90 marks)
  • OBC/MBC/EBC/BCM-55% (82 marks)
  • SC/ST/BT/PwBD- 50% (75 marks)
