The ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi, has announced a recruitment opportunity for four Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions in the Division of Genetics under ICAR-funded projects of the National Mission on High Yielding Seeds. The positions are related to research projects on Lentil and Mungbean.

Senior Research Fellow – Lentil Project
Project: National Mission on High Yielding Seeds – Lentil (12-289G)

Selected candidates will contribute to research activities involving genetics, plant breeding and crop improvement. Responsibilities may include molecular breeding, biotechnology, laboratory activities, research data management, analysis and computer-based project work.
Senior Research Fellow – Mungbean Project
Project: National Mission on High Yielding Seeds – Mungbean (12-289H)

The selected fellows will participate in genetics and plant breeding research related to mungbean and assist with molecular breeding, biotechnology, crop improvement, project documentation, research analysis and related technical activities.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in Genetics, Plant Breeding, Genetics and Plant Breeding, or Biotechnology, along with a 4-year or 5-year Bachelor’s Degree.
Candidates holding a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree must possess UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET or an equivalent qualification, or a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline, as applicable under ICAR guidelines.
Experience in Molecular Breeding, Plant Breeding or Biotechnology will be desirable. Candidates should also have proficiency in computer applications.
Salary
The selected Senior Research Fellows will receive remuneration according to applicable ICAR norms:
- 1st & 2nd Year: Rs. 37,000 + HRA per month
- 3rd Year: Rs. 42,000 + HRA per month
HRA and fellowship conditions will be governed by the applicable ICAR rules.
Nature of Appointment
The appointments are purely temporary and project-based. The positions will remain co-terminus with the respective research projects and do not constitute permanent employment with ICAR-IARI.
