Project Title

“Deciphering the sequence and structural signatures of the product specificity of Protein Arginine Methyl Transferases in health and disease”

The selected Research Associate-I will contribute to research activities related to cell biology, molecular biology, systems biology and molecular mechanisms associated with Protein Arginine Methyl Transferases.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. in any area of Life Sciences.
• Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree may also apply.
• Applicants should demonstrate evidence of conducting high-quality research during or after their Ph.D. programme.

Essential Research Experience

Applicants should have research experience involving cell and molecular biology studies at the systems level, particularly in areas such as:

• Omics-Proteomics
• PTM-Proteomics
• NGS sequencing
• Tissue microarrays

Desirable Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in:

• Cell and molecular biology
• Handling primary cell lines
• CRISPR-Cas9-based genome editing

Candidates with practical laboratory experience in molecular and cellular research may be well suited to the position.

Fellowship / Salary

Candidates with Ph.D. Certificate

₹58,000 per month + 10% HRA

This fellowship applies to candidates who possess the required Ph.D. certificate.

Candidates Awaiting Ph.D. Degree

₹42,000 per month + 10% HRA

Candidates awaiting the award of their Ph.D. degree must provide confirmation from the competent authority that:

• The Ph.D. thesis has been submitted, and
• The final viva/defence is pending.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 35 years as on the closing date of the advertisement.

Duration

The appointment is temporary and initially for 6 months.

The continuation of the position will be subject to the applicable project and institutional conditions.
