IIT Hyderabad invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow for a research project focused on modelling of combustion and multiphase flow under the CLEANZ-CoE initiative.
The position is particularly suited to candidates with strong expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), including experience with Ansys Fluent and OpenFOAM.

Project: Modelling of Combustion & Multiphase Flow
Employment Type: Temporary
Duration: One year, with possible extension based on performance and review
Location: IIT Hyderabad, Sangareddy, Telangana
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Ph.D. with B.Tech./M.Tech. or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- At least 3 publications in Scopus-indexed journals.
- Experience using both Ansys Fluent and OpenFOAM CFD solvers, demonstrated through published journal papers.
- Experience developing customized CFD solvers using OpenFOAM libraries.
- Good academic record throughout.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following CFD modelling areas:
- Lagrangian particle tracking.
- Turbulent heat and mass transfer in thermal management applications.
- Volume of Fluid (VOF) model or its variants.
- Adsorption/desorption processes in porous media.
Stipend / Salary
The selected Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of:
₹75,400 to ₹79,300 per month, including HRA
The exact remuneration will depend on the candidate’s post-doctoral experience.
Duration of Appointment
The appointment will initially be for one year.
An extension may be granted subject to the candidate’s performance and a review process.
Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted based on:
- Fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria.
- Academic record.
- Relevant research and professional experience.
Only shortlisted candidates will be informed by email regarding the interview with the selection committee.
Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an interview call.
