Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the Research Associate-I position should possess:
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree; OR
- 3 years of research, teaching, and design/development experience after ME/M.Tech.
- Candidates applying through the experience route must have at least one research paper published in an SCI-indexed journal.
Desirable Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with strong practical experience in robotics and experimental research, particularly:
- Development and testing of robotic systems, mechanisms, or experimental platforms.
- Experience with actuators, sensors, embedded systems, and robotic platform control.
- Laboratory experimentation, instrumentation, data acquisition, and data analysis.
- Programming experience in MATLAB, Python, ROS, or similar robotics and experimental-control tools.
- Ability to independently design, build, troubleshoot, and improve experimental robotic prototypes.
- Experience with field experiments, unconventional robotic platforms, deformable systems, or soft robotics will be especially desirable.
Research Project
The selected Research Associate-I will work on the project titled “The Science and Design of Robotic Sandworms: Propulsion of Deformable Object Through Particulate Media.”
The research involves robotic systems and experimental investigation of how deformable robotic structures can move through particulate environments. Candidates with practical robotics, mechanism design, sensing, actuation, control, and experimental research experience are encouraged to apply.
Salary
The selected Research Associate-I will receive a consolidated salary of ₹58,000 per month, plus HRA as per Institute rules.
Duration of Appointment
The appointment will initially be made for one year. The tenure may be extended further depending on the candidate’s performance and project requirements.
