About Organization:
The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) was inaugurated on 6 August 2016, initially operating from Paloura, Jammu, under the mentorship of IIT Delhi.
The institute later shifted its primary operations to its main campus at Jagti village near Jammu. The campus is located on National Highway-44, approximately 17 km from Jammu Airport and 19 km from Jammu Tawi Railway Station.

IIT Jammu invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement in the research project titled:
“Development of Automated Flexible UT Array for Inspection of Curved Vertical Surfaces of Bridge Piers.”
Candidates meeting the prescribed educational qualifications, relevant R&D experience and national-level eligibility requirements may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Fellow (SRF).
Candidates who do not possess GATE/NET or another prescribed national-level eligibility qualification may also be considered for Project Associate-I (PA-I) or Project Associate-II (PA-II), depending on their qualifications and experience.

Eligibility Criteria
Option 1: M.E./M.Tech Candidates
Candidates should possess:
- M.E./M.Tech degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Two years of relevant R&D experience.
- GATE/NET or another prescribed national-level eligibility qualification for consideration as SRF.
Option 2: B.E./B.Tech Candidates
Candidates should possess:
- B.E./B.Tech degree in Electrical, Electronics, Civil, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Control or a relevant field from a recognized/reputed institute or university.
- Two years of relevant R&D experience.
- GATE/NET or another prescribed national-level eligibility qualification for consideration as SRF.
Candidates possessing only a B.E./B.Tech degree are also eligible to apply, subject to the applicable criteria.
SRF Eligibility and Fellowship
Candidates who possess the prescribed educational qualification, two years of relevant R&D experience, and GATE/NET or another prescribed national-level eligibility qualification may be considered for engagement as Senior Research Fellow.
SRF Fellowship: ₹42,000 per month + HRA as applicable.
The engagement will be governed by applicable ANRF/DST norms.
Alternative Engagement as PA-I / PA-II
Candidates without GATE/NET or another prescribed national-level eligibility qualification may still be considered for project positions.
Project Associate-I
Candidates possessing the prescribed qualification but without GATE/NET or another prescribed national-level eligibility qualification may be considered for PA-I.
Pay: ₹30,000 per month + HRA.
Project Associate-II
Candidates possessing the prescribed qualification and two years of relevant R&D experience, but without GATE/NET or another prescribed national-level eligibility qualification, may be considered for PA-II.
Pay: ₹33,000 per month + HRA.
Duration of Appointment
The initial appointment will be for six months.
The engagement may be extended further based on the candidate’s performance or until the end of the project, whichever is earlier.
Selection Process
Candidates will be considered according to the applicable IIT Jammu project recruitment and selection procedures.
The final engagement category and remuneration will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience and fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility requirements.
