Indian Institute of Technology Patna invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position under a time-bound research project sponsored by the Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR&DB).

The selected candidate will work on research related to surface crack repair of engineering materials through friction surfacing.

Project Duration: 3 Years

Sponsoring Agency: Aeronautics Research and Development Board (AR&DB)

Essential Qualification

Candidates must possess any one of the following qualifications with a minimum CPI of 6.5 or 60% marks:

  • B.Tech./B.E. in Metallurgy, Materials or Mechanical Engineering
  • M.Tech./M.E. in Metallurgy, Materials or Mechanical Engineering
  • M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Solid State Physics or Ceramics

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Welding / processing
  • Nickel-based superalloys
  • Mechanical properties

Candidates possessing a GATE qualification will also be preferred.

Fellowship

  • First Two Years: ₹37,000 per month
  • Third Year: ₹42,000 per month

Age Limit

  • B.Tech./B.E. candidates: Maximum 28 years
  • M.Tech./M.E./M.Sc. candidates: Maximum 32 years

Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD candidates will be applicable as per Government of India norms.

Selection will be through an online interview.
