The Regional Institute of Technology was the previous name of the institution. In 1960, the Government of India and the Government of Bihar jointly created the Institute. Eleven departments of NIT JSR provide a range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programs in science, engineering, and the humanities. The Institute has 200 faculty, 4,000 students, and 150 administrative and supporting staff and is a self-contained campus. Positions: Junior Research Fellow(JRF)
Job description: JRF will perform the sampling of microplastic samples from various freshwater ecosystems. Further, JR fellow will also be engaged in chemical analysis, risk assessment studies, and compilation of data for publications. A good knowledge of hydrological modelling and material characterization are required.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Chemistry with NET/valid GATE score or M. Tech/M.E./M.S. (Environmental Engg. /Civil Engg. /Production Engg. / Hydrology/Polymer Engg. Or equivalent with minimum 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA.
Desirable :Preference will be given to candidates having CSIR/UGC JRF-NET/GATE and working experience relevant to the project.
