About the Recruitment

CUSB invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for 03 temporary project positions under a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India-funded project in the Department of Bioinformatics.

The recruitment is being conducted for the establishment of a Bioinformatics Centre under the DBT BTISNet programme.

Project Details

Project Title:
“Establishment of Bioinformatics Center in Central University of South Bihar under DBT BTISNet”

The project has a duration of three years. The initial appointments will be made up to 7th July 2027, with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

All positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project.

1. Research Associate-I

Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or Computational Biology
• Good academic record

Desirable Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• At least two research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate-I will be involved in:

• Organizing workshops and training programmes
• Designing, conducting, and managing research projects
• Collaborating with research teams
• Supporting the Principal Investigator
• Undertaking other project-related research responsibilities

2. Project Associate-I

Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Bioinformatics
• Minimum 60% marks
• Degree from a recognized university

Desirable

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• Experience in computational analysis of biological data
• Strong research orientation and commitment

Responsibilities

The Project Associate-I will assist with:

• Workshops and training programmes
• Administrative coordination
• Project documentation
• Stakeholder communication
• Supporting the Principal Investigator
• Maintaining smooth project operations
• Other project-related activities

The selected candidate may also be encouraged to register for a Ph.D. programme, subject to applicable University rules.

3. Scientific Administrative Assistant

Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Graduate degree in a Science discipline
• Minimum 60% marks
• Degree from a recognized university

Desirable

• Practical knowledge of Bioinformatics

Responsibilities

The Scientific Administrative Assistant will assist with:

• Laboratory support
• Data management
• Data entry and record maintenance
• Project asset and stock tracking
• Office-related activities
• Research support
• Project-related assistance to the Principal Investigator

Nature of Appointment

• Temporary / Project-Based
• Initial appointment up to 7th July 2027
• Project duration: 3 years
• Extension may be considered based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds
• Appointment will remain co-terminus with the project
