About the Project

IIT Kharagpur invites applications for Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions under a sponsored research project titled “AI-Enabled Cloud Platform for Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Health Management of On-Site Industrial Drives.”

The project focuses on developing scalable cloud computing and artificial intelligence/machine learning solutions for monitoring, diagnostics, prognostics, and health management of industrial drive systems.

A total of 2 SRF positions are available.

Senior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 – Position Details

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must meet either of the following eligibility requirements:

Option 1

• Master’s degree in EE/EC/CS/IN or related branches of Electrical Sciences.
• Valid GATE score.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Option 2

• B.Tech. in EE/EC/CS/IN or related branches of Electrical Sciences.
• Valid GATE score.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

Desired Experience

Candidates with relevant professional or research experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• Scalable cloud solutions using AWS
• CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance
• Big-data and real-time data pipelines
• MLOps practices
• Machine-learning model deployment
• AI/ML model monitoring and performance management
• Scaling AI/ML models and cloud-based applications

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 32 years.

Age relaxation, wherever applicable, will be provided according to the relevant IIT Kharagpur/institute/project rules.

Nature of Appointment

The SRF position is a temporary project-based research position associated with the sponsored research project. The appointment will be governed by the applicable regulations of IIT Kharagpur’s Sponsored Research and Industrial Consultancy (SRIC) division and the requirements of the project.

Salary / Fellowship

The position will carry remuneration/fellowship as per the applicable IIT Kharagpur SRIC project rules and sanctioned project norms. Candidates should refer to the official recruitment notification for the exact fellowship amount and applicable terms.
