Organization Profile: The Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, popularly known as the acronym ‘TANUVAS’, blossomed on 20.09.1989 as the first Veterinary University of the country, through the Tamil Nadu State Government Act 42 of 1989. The seed for the establishment and growth of TANUVAS was sown as early as 1876, when the Madras Veterinary College was started as an Agricultural School in Chennai to offer diploma and certificate course in the field of veterinary and animal sciences.
Designation: Project Associate- I
Qualification: Master’s degree in Veterinary / Animal Science / Fisheries in any subject or Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences with PG Diploma in Feed Manufacturing Technology or Bachelor’s Degree in Technology (B.Tech.) in Poultry Production Technology / Food Processing / Agricultural Engineering / Fisheries Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks.
Desirable Qualifications:
- M.V.Sc. in Animal Nutrition / Livestock Products Technology or M.F.Sc, in Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology or Master’s Degree in Technology (M.Tech) – Poultry Production Technology / Food Technology / Fish Process Engineering / Agricultural Engineering / Farm Machinery / Processing and Food Engineering
- Operation of computers and accounting software & typing
- Work experience in Feed mills / Food processing units
- Research experience in Feed Technology
- Passing of NET / GATE / Any other approved eligibility tests.
- Should know Tamil to read, write and speak.
Emoluments:
- i) 31,000/ + HRA per month to scholars who passed (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET or GATE or AICTE / ICAR NET / Any other National / State level tests approved (or)
- ii) Rs 25,000/-+HRA for others who are do not fall under (i) above.
Age limit: Not more than 35 years as on closing date of application. Age relaxation is allowed up to 5 years for SC / ST / OBC / WOMEN candidates as per the rules in force.
Duration of the Post: Initially for three years. Further continuance will be based on performance assessment and functional needs of the project.
