Research Domains
Candidates should have doctoral research experience in one of the following areas:
1. Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM)
Research focused on electronics system design, manufacturing and related technological development.
2. Information Technology / IT-Enabled Services (IT/ITES)
Research focused on information technology, IT-enabled services and associated technological applications.
Applicants should propose research that aligns with the selected domain and clearly identifies its objectives, expected outcomes and deliverables.
Educational Qualifications and Eligibility
Candidates must satisfy the following eligibility conditions:
- Must be an Indian citizen.
- Must possess a Ph.D. degree from a recognized institution.
- The Ph.D. research domain must focus on ESDM or IT/ITES.
- The Ph.D. must have been completed within the five years preceding the application deadline.
- Candidates must have obtained first class or equivalent grades at all preceding educational levels and maintain a good academic record.
- Candidates who completed their Ph.D. from the University of Allahabad are not eligible.
- The maximum age limit is 40 years as of the application submission date.
- Applicants must not be in regular employment at the time of application.
- Researchers or scientists employed in temporary academic or research positions may be considered, but they must relinquish their current position if selected.
- Candidates who have already received this fellowship under the scheme are not eligible for further support.
Desirable qualification: Preference will be given to candidates with active industry linkages and research proposals addressing industry-specific problems. A proven academic record, including peer-reviewed publications and recognition, is also expected.
Fellowship Amount and Benefits
Selected candidates will receive the following support:

The contingency grant is disbursed on a pro-rata basis. Travel support is subject to the scheme’s applicable rules and conditions.
The fellowship is temporary, full-time and non-transferable. Extension beyond one year is not permitted under the scheme.
Selection Process
The selection process consists of two stages.
Stage 1: Screening Test
- The test will be conducted offline at the University of Allahabad campus.
- Questions will be based on the relevant research domain, ESDM or IT/ITES.
- Candidates who qualify at this stage may be shortlisted for the personal interview.
Stage 2: Personal Interview
- Shortlisted candidates will attend an interview conducted by a panel of experts.
- The interview may take place on the same day as the screening test or the following day.
Final selection will depend on the recommendation of the interview panel and approval by the competent authority.
The university reserves the right not to fill the vacancy if suitable candidates are not found.
