VCSG Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry (UUHF) was established by the Government of Uttarakhand in 2011 with its headquarters at Bharsar, Pauri Garhwal.
The university was established to promote scientific development of horticulture and forestry in the hill regions of Uttarakhand. Several colleges, research centres and Krishi Vigyan Kendras were brought under UUHF, including the College of Horticulture, Bharsar; College of Forestry & Hill Agriculture, Ranichauri; and other research and agricultural extension centres.

Essential Qualifications
Professor
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and should be eminent scholars with high-quality published research.
The qualification includes:
- Minimum 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Minimum research score of 120 as prescribed under UGC Regulations 2018.
- Minimum 10 years of teaching experience at university/college level as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor and/or equivalent research experience.
- Evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates.
Alternatively, an outstanding professional with a relevant Ph.D. and significant contribution to knowledge in the concerned/allied/applied discipline may be considered, subject to the prescribed experience and documentary evidence.
Associate Professor
Candidates should possess:
- Good academic record.
- Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline.
- Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- Minimum 8 years of teaching/research experience in an academic/research position equivalent to Assistant Professor.
- Minimum 7 publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.
- Minimum research score of 75 as prescribed under UGC Regulations 2018.
Assistant Professor
Candidates should possess:
- Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the relevant/allied subject.
- NET conducted by UGC/CSIR or an equivalent UGC-accredited SLET/SET qualification.
Candidates fulfilling the applicable UGC Ph.D. exemption provisions may also be eligible for exemption from NET/SLET/SET.
Candidates with a Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked among the world’s top 500 by QS, THE or ARWU may also be considered subject to the prescribed conditions.
