Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in any of the following disciplines:
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Aeronautical Engineering
- Any related branch
Applicants who do not meet the minimum educational qualification and required experience will not be called for the interview.
Desirable Experience
Candidates with the following skills and experience will be preferred:
- Proficiency in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis related to materials processing, manufacturing operations, and metallurgical or chemical unit operations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as:
- Steelmaking
- Liquid metal refining
- Casting
- Welding
- Thermal processing of metals
- Proficiency in ANSYS, OpenFOAM, or other fluid-flow solvers.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.
- Good communication skills.
- A Ph.D. from a reputed university or institute with an excellent academic record will be preferred.
Research Project
The selected Post-Doctoral Fellow will work on the research project titled “Accelerated Development of Next Generation High Strength High Performance Steel.”
The project focuses on advanced steel development and related materials-processing and manufacturing technologies. Candidates with expertise in CFD, metallurgical processing, steelmaking, casting, thermal processing, and computational fluid-flow analysis are particularly suited to the position.
Salary
The selected candidate will receive a consolidated salary of ₹60,000 – ₹5,000 – ₹85,200.
Duration of Appointment
The appointment is purely contractual and will initially be for one year. The contract may be extended further depending on satisfactory performance or may continue until the end of the project, whichever is earlier.
Selection Process
Shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview.
Candidates should note that no travelling support will be paid for attending the interview.
Only applicants satisfying the prescribed minimum qualification and relevant requirements will be considered for the interview.
