Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) was originally established as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University on 12th June 1964 at Hyderabad. The university was formally inaugurated on 20th March 1965 by the then Prime Minister of India, Late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri. On 7th November 1996, the university was renamed in honour of Acharya N. G. Ranga, a distinguished educationist, freedom fighter, parliamentarian, and leader who dedicated his life to the welfare of farmers.

Educational Qualifications and Eligibility
Candidates must satisfy the prescribed academic and experience requirements:
- Ph.D. in the relevant subject, or a Master’s degree in the relevant subject.
- Bachelor’s degree of 4/5 years with first division or an equivalent overall grade point average.
- At least three years of relevant teaching or research experience, supported by evidence of fellowship, associateship, training, or other engagements.
- At least one research paper published in a Science Citation Index (SCI) journal or a journal rated NAAS 4.0 or above.
- Candidates with postgraduate degrees in basic sciences who have completed a three-year Bachelor’s degree and a two-year Master’s degree must possess NET qualification.

Salary Details
- Master’s Degree Holders: ₹61,000 per month + HRA
- Ph.D. Degree Holders: ₹67,000 per month + HRA
