The Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), formerly known as the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology, was established in 1968 by the Government of India with assistance from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The International Labour Organization (ILO) served as the executing agency during the initial project.

1. Assistant Professor – Chemistry
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- A full-time Master’s Degree with a good academic record.
- First Class or an equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from an Indian University.
- Candidates should have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR or a similar test accredited by UGC.
Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. in accordance with applicable UGC Regulations may be exempted from the minimum eligibility requirement of NET/SLET/SET, as applicable to recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professors.
Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- per month.
2. Assistant Professor – Mathematics
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have:
- A full-time Master’s Degree with a good academic record.
- First Class or equivalent CGPA in the relevant discipline from an Indian University.
- Qualification in UGC-NET, CSIR-NET or a similar UGC-accredited eligibility test.
Candidates possessing a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with the applicable UGC Regulations may be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, wherever applicable.
Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- per month.
3. Assistant Professor – Chemical Engineering
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- Full-time First Class B.E./B.Tech. in the relevant discipline.
- Full-time First Class M.E./M.Tech. in the relevant discipline.
- The qualification should be from a recognized university.
Experience
At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant discipline is required.
Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- per month.
4. Assistant Professor – Mechanical Engineering
Educational Qualification
Applicants should have:
- Full-time First Class B.E./B.Tech. in the relevant discipline.
- Full-time First Class M.E./M.Tech. in the relevant discipline.
- Degree qualifications should be from a recognized university.
Experience
Candidates should have at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant discipline.
Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- to Rs. 40,000/- per month.
5. Assistant Professor – Computer Science
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess:
- Full-time First Class B.E./B.Tech. in the relevant discipline.
- Full-time First Class M.E./M.Tech. in the relevant discipline.
- Qualification from a recognized university.
Experience
A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant discipline is required.

6. Assistant Placement Consultant
Educational Qualification & Experience
Candidates should possess either:
Option 1:
A full-time Graduate Degree in any discipline with 2 years of experience in the relevant area.
OR
Option 2:
MBA in HRM/PM with 1 year of experience in the relevant area.
Remuneration: Rs. 35,000/- per month.
7. Instructor – Skill Development
Educational Qualification & Experience
Candidates should possess either:
Option 1:
- Full-time First Class B.E./B.Tech. in an appropriate/relevant discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of experience.
OR
Option 2:
- First Class full-time Diploma in the appropriate branch / DPT / DPMT / PGD-PPT.
- Minimum 3 years of experience.
Remuneration: Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- per month.
8. Consultant – Trainee Mobilization
Educational Qualification
Candidates should possess either:
- Full-time Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial / Chemical / EEE, or DPT / DPMT / PGD-PPT.
OR
- Full-time B.Sc. in the relevant branch with First Class.
Remuneration: Rs. 20,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- per month.
