Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), formerly known as Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed to be University), was declared a Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, on 24 May 2005.
The institution was renamed as Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) on 21 November 2022 by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, based on the recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
