“Utilization of Bayer Red Mud as a Supplementary Cementitious Material for Low-Carbon LC³ Cement Production”

The research project focuses on developing a thermal activation protocol for Bayer red mud and investigating its use as a supplementary cementitious material for low-carbon LC³ cement production. The project also involves designing and validating RM-LC³ cement blends using mining-derived limestone.
The research will further assess environmental, energy and economic benefits through AI-driven Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and explore the scalability of low-carbon cement production.

Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess a First Class M.Tech. or Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Structural Engineering
- Construction Technology and Management
- Transportation Engineering
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Equivalent relevant discipline
Candidates should also have qualified GATE / UGC-NET / CSIR-NET or an equivalent examination.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates having:
- Experimental research experience in construction materials or concrete
- Experience in material characterization
- Knowledge or practical experience in Life Cycle Analysis (LCA)
- Quality research publications
- Strong academic credentials
Candidates with relevant research experience in sustainable construction materials and low-carbon cement technologies may find the project particularly suitable.
Key Responsibilities
The selected JRF will be involved in research and project activities including:
- Conducting research experiments under the project.
- Working on low-carbon cement and construction material research.
- Assisting with project-related administrative activities.
- Visiting outstation institutions for collection of materials and data.
- Carrying out experimental and research activities.
- Preparing draft project reports.
- Contributing to research papers and publications.
- Assisting in the preparation and development of patents.
- Supporting other research outputs associated with the project.
Fellowship / Salary
₹37,000 per month + HRA
The fellowship will be provided according to applicable institute and project norms.
Age Limit
