Number of Positions
Guest Coach positions are available across the above-mentioned sports disciplines, subject to the requirements of the Institute.
Essential Qualification
Candidates should possess any one of the following:
- Diploma or Certificate course in Coaching from a recognized University, Institute, or Organization.
- Professional-level coaching course in the respective discipline.
- Participation at National Level, State Level, or Inter-College competition in the respective sport.
Candidates should also have a minimum of one year of coaching experience in a reputed educational institute.
Fellowship / Honorarium
The selected Guest Coaches will be paid on an hourly basis:
- ₹350 per hour – for all sports except Chess
- ₹700 per hour – for Chess
The engagement will be on a temporary and as-and-when-required basis.
Duration / Nature of Engagement
The Guest Coach engagement is:
- Purely temporary
- On an as-and-when-required basis
- Intended to improve the performance of Institute teams
- Applicable for the academic year 2026–27
Selection Process
Selection will be based on:
- Walk-in Interview
- Practical Field Test in the respective sports discipline
The walk-in interview and practical field test are scheduled to be conducted at the Student Activity Centre, NIT Jamshedpur.

- Completed application form in the prescribed format
- Self-attested photocopies of educational qualification certificates
- Coaching / professional qualification certificates
- Experience certificates
- Certificates related to National, State, or Inter-College participation, wherever applicable
- One recent passport-size photograph
- Original documents for verification
