About Organization:
Yudhistir Mishra Law College, formerly known as Balangir Law College, was established in 1982–83 to provide legal education to students from Balangir and neighbouring districts. The college is affiliated with M.S. Law University, Cuttack, established in 2021 as a centre for excellence in legal education and research.
The college offers a 3-year LL.B. programme approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and permanently approved by the Government of Odisha.

Essential Qualifications
Candidates applying for Assistant Professor in Law should satisfy the applicable UGC and BCI requirements.
The candidate should possess:
- A Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M.) with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade from a recognized Indian university or an equivalent accredited foreign university.
- Candidates should have cleared UGC NET or a similar UGC-accredited examination such as SLET/SET, wherever applicable.
- Candidates holding a qualifying Ph.D. under the applicable UGC Regulations may be exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement, subject to the prescribed conditions.
For Law, eligibility will also be subject to the applicable UGC Regulations and Bar Council of India Rules of Legal Education, 2008, as amended from time to time.
A 5% relaxation in the minimum Master’s degree marks, from 55% to 50%, will be applicable to eligible reserved-category candidates as prescribed under the applicable UGC regulations.
