About the Position
Indian Institute of Technology Jammu invites applications from eligible candidates for one Research Associate (RA) position under a research project funded by the National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM).
The selected Research Associate will contribute to research on low-cost prosthetics using advanced textile and composite technologies, with responsibilities involving sensor design, hardware development, experimental trials and clinical trials.

Job Profile
The selected Research Associate will be expected to contribute to the research project through activities such as:
- Sensor design and development
- Hardware design and development
- Experimental trials
- Participation in clinical trials
- Research and development related to low-cost prosthetics
- Application of advanced textile and composite technologies in prosthetic design and fabrication
Essential Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Ph.D. in a relevant or allied discipline, along with
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering with Sensors Technology, or a relevant field.
The qualifying degrees must be obtained from a recognized University/Institute.
Desirable Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates who have:
- Successfully completed a research project.
- At least four research publications in peer-reviewed journals as first author.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 35 years
- Age relaxation of up to 5 years may be applicable to eligible SC/ST/OBC candidates, women and persons with disabilities, as per the applicable recruitment conditions.
Salary
The selected Research Associate will receive:
₹49,000 per month + HRA as applicable
The remuneration will be paid from the approved project funds. No enhancement in salary will be provided beyond the sanctioned project provision.
Duration of Appointment
The initial appointment will be for 6 months.
The appointment may be extended based on the candidate’s performance or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.
